SCIPD Hong Kong 2009

Scottish Education delegation, trip to Hong Kong

Early Years Establishment

Just left an early years establishment catering for children up to six years. It had 160 children, fabulous outdoor spaces and was also used as an establishment to assist in training new teachers. Lots to see – we’ll upload all the hundreds of photos we’ve been taking when we arrive back. Interesting work going on with parents ensuring good home school links. Too much to write so what we’re doing is giving small snippets but we already have dozens of pages of notes which as we look through them we’ll summarise later. No banquet for lunch today! But we managed to find a sandwich shop for some much needed roughage! Have also been to a Primary school this morning which was fairly new – opened since 07 and they shared their innovative practice. Now off to see Dr Ko Po-Yuk associate professor at Hong Kong Institute of Education

  1. Hi Hong Kongers

What a fantastic visit – really jealous but comforting myeslf in the thought of leading the Netherlands Study Visit in June. It sounds like your hosts are very helpful and welcoming and that the visit has lots to think about, experience and enjoy. It’s good to read the postings and look forward to seeing some of the photos once they are posted on the blog. Have fun
